Tinos is the third largest island of Cyclades and is part of the northern Cyclades, located southeast of Andros and northwest of Mykonos.

One of the most important churches for the Greek-Orthodox faith, the church of the Lady of Tinos, attracts every year thousands from all over world to pay respect to the Holy Icon, which is kept in the church and is strongly believed to be miraculous. The Holy Icon dominates in the church with diamonds, sapphires and pearls, the offerings of emperors, kings and the faithful people. The church was built in 1823, during the revolution of the Greeks against the Ottoman rule, on the spot where the miraculous icon was found.

Five kilometers east of Tinos Town and along the southern coast of the island, you'll find one of the loveliest, cleanest beaches of the island, and also one of the most popular. This beach is the beginning of a very long stretch of award-winning beachfront and crystal clear water. This is one of the best swimming areas for children, as the water is shallow and gentle and its depth increases gradually. You’ll find plenty of tavernas well spaced along the beach, lovely holiday accommodation, and even two mini markets.

You can visit Tinos only by boat. The island is connected to Piraeus (5 hours voyage), Rafina (4 hours voyage), Thessaloniki (12 hours voyage) and many other islands. Also there are several routes from Piraeus and Rafina with fast ferries during the summer months.
